Tapasee making her debut in Aadukalam movie
Punjabi lass Tapasee who is making her debut with Vetrimaran’s yet-to-release Aadukalam is on a roll. The lady has already signed her next project in Tamil. She will now be paired opposite Jiiva in Vandaan Vendraan, directed by Kannan (of Jeyam Kondaan and Kandein Kadhalai fame). The film will go on the floors in Mumbai in August.
Genelia is brand ambassador of the year
Popular Tamil-Telugu-Hindi actress Genelia, who currently endorses nine brands including Cadbury’s Perk, Fanta, Spinz, Dabur Vatika, LG Cookie, Virgin, Margo, Garnier and Fasttrack, was selected as the brand ambassador of the year by CNBC AWAAZ Consumer Awards. The award was announced late Monday evening. Last year's award recipient was Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.
Genelia said: "It is an honour that CNBC AWAAZ and the Indian consumers have chosen to bestow upon me and I couldn’t be happier. Stalwarts like Shahrukh and Akshay Kumar have been awarded this prestigious title in the past and I’m only glad that people think I’m worthy of the same."
"This award symbolizes a bridge between the consumer and the brand and I consider it a huge responsibility. I hope I continue to do even better in the future and I’m sure I will as I have a very strong team with me that helps me build, grow and sustain. My success is as much theirs as it is mine,” she added.

Katrina Kaif knows the importance of relationship
The beauty surely knows the importance of relationship… Although there’s an alleged gap between Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, the actress has not cut away the ties with his near and dear ones.
Recently the gori had organized a special screening just for Salman’s family. But no, Salman didn’t watch it though. In fact his father Salim Khan who had attended the show was quite impressed with Katrina’s performance. On a sentimental note Katrina said to sources that she wanted Salim saab to see ‘Raajneeti’ for very special reason. For, he’s the one who has seen Kat since her initial struggling days in Bollywood. “He's very proud of me," remarked Katz excited.
Similarly, ‘Raajneeti’ director Prakash Jha is pleased and revealed that Salim saab was full of praise for the film. “He specially praised the dialogues which, coming from him, was a great compliment. Earlier, Salim saab had said what he and Javed Akhtar saab wrote as a cops story in Zanjeer was nowhere near the authenticity of my cops story in Gangaajal. He's a generous man,” quoted Jha to sources.
We wonder when we can hear Salman’s verdict… Salman in fact had tweeted that he surely would like to see ‘Raajneeti’, giving hope to Katrina. Incidentally, the hunk star till now has not seen any of Katrina’s film… Looks like being away from the show, Salman has dashed Kat’s dreams…

Actress Mamta Mohandas speaks about herself
Mamta Mohandas is sore about one thing- that not even a single character she had played so far gave her the opportunity to show her bubbly side. “I am so energetic in real life but I am always asked to underplay my emotions,” she sulks.
“My friends and family members know my real face. I am a big chatter box who is so bubbly and energetic. My favourite pastime is to play prank and to pull the legs of others for fun,” the actress says.
“However, the film industry is not allowing me to be myself,” she says and adds: “All the roles I have done so far kept my bubbliness in complete control. Hopefully I should get a chirpy character soon.”
But she is extremely happy about being a playback singer. “My thanks to music composers like Mani Sharma and Devi Sri Prasad for offering me energetic songs. I thoroughly enjoy each and every moment of singing.”

Who will direct Ajith's 50th movie?
Cloud Nine’s proposed latest announcement will mark an end to the rumors surrounding Ajith’s 50th movie. The production company that owns Ajith’s call sheets is on the verge of producing a movie, to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. Set in the backdrop of Mumbai’s Dharavi slums, this movie has been titled Mangatha.
On the other hand, Cloud Nine also owns the call sheet of Gautham Menon. Although there’s no news about what happened to the earlier speculated Gautham Menon–Ajith venture, looks like a Gautham–Cloud Nine production is in the cards. However, it is unclear if the director will wield the megaphone for a film that will have Ajith once the actor completes the assignment with Venkat Prabhu.

Salman reported to have donated 25 computers to the Saint Catherine's Home
He can be called a “khatta meetha” actor of Bollywood – sometimes rough, sometimes sweet… No no we are not talking about Akshay Kumar if you are going by what we said… We are referring to our hunk star Salman Khan…. While he is known for his mood swings, Sallu miyaan is popular as a saviour in disguise.
Recently, the actor proved his golden heart yet again…. Salman reported to have donated 25 computers to the Saint Catherine's Home in Bandra. This NGO institution aids children by giving them with free education and shelter.
Salman regularly visits this Home, say twice a month and spends time here with the children. According to sources, when the actor was there once, he learnt that the children were willing to learn computers but the institution lacked enough systems for everyone to work on. And there’s where the star stepped in to help….

Sherlyn Chopra has been banned from posting images on Twitter
Wherever Sherlyn Chopra goes and whatever she does creates a storm. Proving this was her recent ban from the microblogging site Twitter. If what we hear is to be believed, the seductive temptress Sherlyn Chopra has been banned from posting images on Twitter.
This comes after Sherlyn had posted naked images of herself on the site, saying they were from a photo shoot she had done. While not too long ago, she tweeted saying, "Where has my pic disappeared! This is strange! Can Twitter kindly let me know where my pics are? Is there a censor board on Twitter???" It turned out that the censors for content on Twitter deleted her images and also banned her from posting images.
Later, Sherlyn updated, "Twitter has banned me from uploading pics... My Team is tryin 2 get in touch with Twitter to sort out the matter." Chopra has also suggested that she will quit the social networking website if the problem doesn't get resolved soon.

Katrina Kaif's Raajneeti party plan has spoiled by Rain
Katrina Kaif was supposed to fly down to Mumbai for a day to attend the Raajneeti success party on Wednesday from Spain, where she is shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, but the actress had to drop her plans because of the inclement weather there.
The Raajneeti team has a lot to celebrate about, but director Prakash Jha wanted no celebration until his lucky mascot Katrina was available.
But Zoya's crew has been facing rough weather ever since they arrived in Spain. Apparently six days of shooting had to be cancelled because of heavy rains. And now they need to quickly make up for lost time since their work permits and visas would expire.
Jha admits that Katrina would be unable to make it to the party.
"They've lost a lot of time because of the rain in Spain. I couldn't dream of having a Raajneeti bash without Katrina. And I had postponed it until her availability. But now it's impossible for Katrina to fly down," Jha said.
Katrina even requested the film's producers and the director to accommodate her absence for less than a day.
Says a source close to Katrina: "Since Prakash Jha was very, very keen to have her down to Mumbai for the bash, and had even made all the arrangements for her flight, Katrina was not willing to give up the idea of attending the function. She offered to be back in less than 24 hours. Katrina was willing to fly to Mumbai, attend the Raajneeti bash on Wednesday and fly out the same night to re-join the ...Dobara team the next morning. But this has not been allowed."
Jha will now record a video message from Katrina and play it at the party. "So she will be with us in spirit if not in person," he said.
Katrina, on the other hand, tried to sound diplomatic and not disappointed. "It is a big day. And the success of Raajneeti is very precious to me. But I can't leave the crew in Spain."
She admits there're lots of unscheduled breaks. Katrina has got one of her sisters, Melissa, to join her in Spain to give her company at break time.
"London is just two hours, so Melissa could join me. Mumbai is in another hemisphere. Flying down is impossible. Please tell Prakashji, mera party baqi raha," she said.

Ranbir Kapoor's next Anjaana Anjaani with
What does a hit film do to you? Well, it ends up benefiting not just everyone associated with that film but also the next one which is in the pipeline. Ranbir Kapoor will certainly vouch for that as the blockbuster success of Raajneeti has ensured that his very next release, Anjaana Anjaani (with Priyanka Chopra), hugely benefits from it.
Reasons are aplenty:
a) Raajneeti has made a statement loud and clear that Ranbir isn't made just for candyfloss cinema. He has the range and if Wake Up Sid and Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year were the starting points, Raajneeti has been a definite milestone in his career as far as working in offbeat cinema (if looked at from the perspective of what is expected from a young actor of his age) is concerned.
b) The entire balancing act is certainly going in his favour. Just after Wake Up Sid, Ranbir Kapoor returned with a major money spinner in the form of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. While it was always meant to be a so called 'safe film' (in Bollywood parlance), the fact remains that it was Ranbir's charm (amongst some genuine comic moments, super hit music and Katrina Kaif's continued luck) which helped it enjoy a long run at the box office.
c) With good critical acclaim as well as commercial success coming his way, Ranbir is pretty much being looked at as a package deal, something which has been nurtured to the fullest in Raajneeti. While his restrained performance has made everyone sit up and take notice of his inherent talent, the roaring box office success has proved that audiences are willing to accept him even in those roles where he is not just a chocolate hero.
These are the factors that make Anjaana Anjaani an interesting case study on what to expect from Ranbir. He got an initial jolt after Saawariya, only to get a shot in the arm courtesy Bachna Ae Haseeno which had turned out to be a decent success. With Siddharth Anand as the film-maker who gave Ranbir his first success, Anjaana Anjaani could well be life coming full circle for the director-actor 'jodi'. Add to that the fact that the film comes from the house of Nadiadwala Grandsons which has been known for its successful record over the years and it can be confidently said that the hit run of Ranbir Kapoor is pretty much safeguarded.
Says a veteran industry follower, "The going couldn't have been better for Ranbir as he seems to have planned it all quite well. Soon after a rather serious Raajneeti, he is looking at a young entertainer like Anjaana Anjaani. Sajid Nadiadwala is known for making big films which are family entertainers and feelers within the industry are already quite positive about Anjaana Anjaani. Then there are films with directors like Imtiaz Ali (Rockstar) and Anurag Basu (Silence). Though it is a common saying that one can't plan things to perfection, especially in the unpredictable world of Bollywood, this is pretty much the case if one looks at the way Ranbir has gone about picking and choosing his projects."

FHM rates Deepika Padukone as a most sexiest woman
Sexy isn't just the way you look. Sexy isn't just the sort of stuff you say. Sexy is not even just the kind of clothes you wear or how much you reveal. In fact, sexy is the attitude you carry. It's inherent and encompasses your entire being, one that Deepika Padukone has in oodles. The minute she comes on screen, she lights it up with her smile and her very presence. Quite deservingly then was Miss Padukone rated as the sexiest woman in the world by the popular magazine FHM.
Deepika, in her own words, admits, "Sexy is not about the amount of skin you show. It is more about how confident you are, how you carry yourself. It's a measure of your being just what you are. Ultimately, 'sexy' is about how you feel about yourself from within." And yes, she also speaks about the 'Sid factor' in her life. She says, "Siddharth is a great guy. Based on whatever little time I got to spend with him during the matches, I found him to be a wonderful person. But, the fact is that I am very much single!" And when to define 'life', she says, "The pursuit of happiness is how I define life. For me, life is all about being a good human being and a happy person."
All this and much more, only in the latest edition of FHM! Simply go for it.

Maanish Sharma to direct Anushka Sharma
‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Badmaash Company’ – both the films have established Anushka Sharma well and fine in the tinsel town. Her association in turn have also proved to be lucky for Yash Raj Films, the production house of the two films.
Now the pretty gal is busy working on the banner’s third venture, tentatively titled ‘Shaadi Mubarak Ho’. However, the production team is still on a search for a suitable title. Hmm, hope this film repeats the success like her earlier ones.
This film is directed by Maanish Sharma and has Ranveer Singh in the lead.
The film is currently kept under hush-hush blanket, with the unit keeping all the shooting happenings within themselves. But don’t you worry; our birdies will bring in more titbits soon…

Vedam movie running successfully in Theatres
Director Radha Krishna will be an extremely pleased man with his second movie, ‘Vedam’ running to full houses. Here’s the talk of the movie for IndiaGlitz readers.
On the opening day, the movie was filled with fans of Allu Arjun and Manchu Manoj. As the week progressed, the talk seemed to have been filled with mixed reviews. The interesting thing is that the movie is running to packed shows. It is house full everywhere as the story and narration of the movie is something new to Telugu audience.
Besides this, fans are thronging theatres, not just to watch Allu Arjun dance but also see him in a new avatar. He has given a terrific performance and has tried to come out of his usual commercial image. Arjun has been receiving rave reviews for his performance in the movie and so is Anushka. Her character, her appearance and her performance all are receiving appreciation as she has accepted a character that not many actresses would dare to do.
Manoj is not far behind. His role of a rock star has received a lot of appreciation and especially his performance in intense scenes. As Krish himself is the designer of costumes in the movie, Manoj was given attractive clothes suiting his character. He pulled off an amazing performance along with the costumes he wore. He looked simply remarkable in the movie.
All the other characters including Manoj Bajpai’s character have received appreciation for their performance. In spite of all this, director Krish has received enormous positive reception and admiration from his counterparts from all around the country. Some say he has been heavily inspired by Hollywood flicks, some say he has made a classy movie, one thing is sure; he has made people think after ‘Vedam’.

If Raavan(an) and Raajneeti as Epic
When it rains, it pours! That’s what it seems like now. It has been quite a while since any of our great epics have been adapted on screen. And when they happen, they are releasing within a fortnight of each other. First, it was Raajneeti; an adaptation of the Mahabharata and on the 18th it will be Raavanan; adaptation of the Ramayana.
Now, how much of an adaptation are these films; i.e., are they 100% genuine adaptations of the epics, told in a modern setting or are they interpretations of the epics that take a few liberties? This is an attempt to analogize characters in these films with their counterparts in the epics. This is purely imaginative/analytical and is not authoritative information on the film or the epic.
Raajneeti:
The modern Mahabharata. In the film, as in the real epic, the issue is the power to rule. In the epic, the cousins fought over kingdoms while in the movie, the fight is over the authority in a political party.
The Kaurava group:
Unlike the epic, this group does not have 100 brothers. But, the mastermind and lead of them all is there, Duryodhana, which is the character of Virendra played by Manoj Bajpai. Strongly objecting when his father’s younger brother is given the reins of power; scheming the ouster of his cousin from the party and resorting to all kinds of unethical tactics to get the better of them in the elections.
The other main character on the Kaurava side that actually belonged to the Pandava clan by birth is portrayed by Ajay Devgn as Sooraj. Most of you might not have much difficulty in guessing the character from the epic which Sooraj represents; the highly respected Karna; the man who gave more importance to his friendship and loyalty rather than any blood relation. He who chose to stay alongside his ally and friend even at the cost of being killed by his younger brother. The man who always stood true to his word. And he who wears the ‘kundalas’ on his ears. Karna is perhaps the character that has been most earnestly adapted from the Mahabharata into Rajneethi.
The Pandava group:
Here too, unlike in the epic, there aren’t five brothers; only two. Which two brothers are being depicted here?
The elder brother, played by Arjun Rampal, can be considered as Yudhishthira by the virtue of being eldest. But, the characterization does not fully represent Yudhishthira in the way he has been shown in Mahabharata. Yudhishthira is known as the most righteous and just of all the Pandavas. He is also the only Pandava to survive the final trek through the Himalayas. These traits are not associated with the character in the film. Yet, as the eldest and the rightful heir to the throne of power, Arjun Rampal’s character will be that of Yudhishthira. The younger brother, played by Ranbir Kapoor, is no doubt Arjuna. With his razor sharp brain that devises tactics, his proximity to the character of Krishna who is always ready with his advice and his ultimate slaying of Duryodhana and Karna, the character of Arjuna has been faithfully adapted.
Krishna:
One of the most important characters in the Mahabharata; the God who gives moral strength and courage to the Pandavas; Lord Krishna, played by Nana Patekar as Brij Gopal. He constantly advices Arjun about political tactics and at the end tells him to cross the line of ethics when it comes to putting an end to one’s enemy.
Dritharashtra and Pandu:
The younger brother handed over the rein after the elder suffers the stroke is the father of the Pandava side and should thus be Pandu. The elder stroke ridden and paralyzed brother is the father of Virendra (Duryodhana) and should thus be Dritharashtra. Furthermore, he is a silent spectator to all the proceedings from his hospital bed; much like Dritharashtra who was blind and helpless. It also goes without saying that the mother of the Pandava side is Kunti, who is also shown in the film to have given birth to Karna and then set him afloat in the waters of Ganga for their family’s charioteer (car driver) to find him.
Other characters:
There are some characters from the Mahabharata who could not be detected in Raajneeti. Some of them are pivotal characters in the great epic; like the great Bhishmacharya, the wily Shakuni, Dronacharya etc.
Now to the other film and the other great epic; Raavanan and the Ramayana It would be unwise to guess the nature of the characters even before the film releases, especially knowing Mani Ratnam’s style of film making which leaves nothing predictable. But, if Raavanan is indeed an interpretation of the Ramayana, then there are certain things that should be the way we assume.
Raavanan:
The title role of the film, being played by Vikram in Tamil and Abhishek Bachchan in Hindi. There is no doubt about the nature of this character. The extremely powerful, daring asura who kidnaps the wife of Rama. It is obvious that Prithviraj plays Rama in Tamil, while Vikram is Rama in the Hindi version. And, it goes without saying that Aishwarya Rai portrays Sita.
Now, these are the pretty obvious characters. What about the other important characters? Here is a guess.
The trailers have shown Prabhu as a part of the tribal clan, with quite fierce expressions. This leads to thinking that he should be a strong character on the Raavana side. So, we thought (no connection to his physique) that he could be playing the character of Kumbhakarna. While Munna who has also been shown as part of the tribal clan might be Vibhishana, who joins hands with Rama in the end. Priyamani too has been shown as part of the tribal clan and it is being speculated that she could represent Surpanaka. But, it is not clear whether she plays Raavana’s sister, which also leaves the possibility that she could be Mandodari.
Another key actor who has not yet featured in the trailers is Karthik. Going by reports, he plays the role of a forest officer. A wild guess from this small piece of information leads us to three possibilities. Karthik could be any one out of Hanuman, Sugriva or Jatayu.
Is our guess right? Let’s wait and watch.

Vedam has no entertainment for family crowds
Vedam is the movie which hit screens in the last weekend. The movie was a multi starrer at it featured names such as Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and actress Anushka, along with stupendous performance from bollywood actor Manoj Bhajpai.
The movie dealt with a delicate script and was a mirror to the present day society. But strictly speaking ‘Vedam’ is for intellectual minds and has no entertainment for family crowds and youngsters, who are in thirst of feel good movies. The movie has heavy performances from actress Anushka and bollywood actor Manoj Bhajpai and has good performances from actor Allu Arjun and actor Manoj as well.
The publicity of the movie was immensely done with the Anushka’s exposing posters, in order to attract the mass crowds. The reason for it is that, if a movie becomes a hit in the mass crowds, then the mouth talk will be positive and so the collections will be big.
Andhra mirchi Anushka was seen in a role of prostitute and the body language and dialogues impressed the audiences. Director Krish must be given the credit as he has dared to carve a movie, with less entertainment, but has more to think. For a change, ‘Vedam’ kind of movies can help the people get some enlightenment about the society and the process to purify it.

Ragini Dwivedi enters Mollywood
Kannada film industry is probably going to lose one of its most talented actresses to Malayalam films. Ragini Dwivedi, the model turned actress is turning a big name in the Kannada Industry. Ragini debuted in Kannada with Sudeep's hit film Veera Madakari last year.
After the success of Veera Madakari, the actress became one of the most desired leading ladies. But, these successes have not been able to keep her loyal to the Kannada fraternity. Now, she is stepping out to do Malayalam films with Major Ravi's trilingual project Kandahar.
The actress cannot be blamed as any actress could get lured by such tempting offers of acting with great stars like Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan. The shooting of Kandahar is set to start from June 15. Ragini will play the role of Ganesh Venkatraman's love interest in the film.
However, she wishes to fly high in the Mollywood, as it is believed that the industry offers more flexibility to the actresses as far as acting skills are concerned.
Ragini has not yet started shooting for Kandahar, but she is very excited about the film as it has Amitabh Bachchan working beside her. An elated Ragini said, “I feel myself to be very lucky to get a chance to work in a Malayalam film. I can show my talent here and can surely take my career to a different level after working here.”
Earlier, the actress was offered many other Malayalam films but she was not fully satisfied with those projects then. Ragini had a plan to debut in Malayalam films only with a superstar and a Mohanlal project was exactly that.
We hope that Ragini makes it big in Malayalam films also!

Asin out in Kaakha Kaakha Hindi version
Last couple of days has been a testing time for Asin. According to some media reports Asin was dropped from the ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ Hindi remake. Producer of ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ Hindi remake Vipul Shah also is said to have confirmed that Asin is out of his film. Asin’s second Hindi flick ‘London Dreams’ was for Vipul.
There are many reasons floating for Asin’s ouster from the film. One says John Abraham refused to romance Asin feeling she is not sexy enough and he wanted a change. The other one is ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ is also a thrilling, fast-paced action flick with a strong romantic angle like that of ‘Ghajini’. So there may be a comparison if Asin plays the heroine in this too. The third one is she out because she’s busy doing Anees Bazmee’s ‘Ready’ opposite Salman Khan.
But sources close to Asin say a different story. They say Asin wants to regain he foothold in Kollywood and if she does the John Abraham film, her dates will clash with her south Indian projects and so she has decided to opt herself out and give priority to complete her ‘Kaavalkaran’ with Vijay, which is scheduled for a Diwali release.

Neetu Chandra with yellow saree sentiments
After Yaavarum Nalam and Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai, Neetu Chandra is all set to perform a dance number in Mysskin's Yuddham Sei which has Cheran in the lead role. The pretty lass will wear a yellow sari for the dance number (remember 'Kathala Kannala' from Anjaathey). Neetu is also happy with the response she’s been getting for her Hindi thriller Apartment directed by Jagmohan Mundhra. Her upcoming films include Khusar Prasad Ka Bhoot, Love Jaisa Kuch and Anees Bazmee's No Problem.
"I’ll be rehearsing my dance movements for a day and shoot for it from the next day. I’ve heard only a scratch of the song, and I loved it. It has a folkish feel to it. And I’m hoping my dance movements will be slow, sensuous and something on the lines of 'Vaala Meenu' and 'Kathala Kannala'. I will be heavily accessorised and yes, I’ll be wearing a yellow sari, which has proved to be lucky for the director,” she said to a leading English daily.

Kareena Kapoor and Imran in Hollywood remake Movie
The lovely size zero oomph quotient Kareena seems to be the ultimate choice of Karan Johar when it comes to make Hollywood remakes. Kareena who is already working in Karan Johar’s remake of ‘Stepmom’ with Kajol is strongly rumored to star opposite the studious Imran in Karan Johar’s next Hollywood remake of ‘What Happened in Vegas One Night’ the mad caper starred Hollywood hottie Cameron Diaz and Asthon Kutcher.
Hmmmmm, the pair seems delicious as we all know how good Kareena is in her comic timings and how studious Imran can be with the perfectionist ‘mamujaan’ our dear Aamir always ready to give his valuable tips.
Though the production house is ‘mum’ on this issue, close hands are damn sure that this Jodi is currently in Karan Johar’s mind for the film which will again be directed by a newcomer.

Two films in row for Anushka
Actress Anushka, whose films Vedam and Panchakshari are going to release in a few days, created a flutter with her presence atop the Indrakeeladri hillock, abode of Goddess Sri Kanaka Durga, at Vijayawada on Tuesday.
Over 5000 film buffs and fans of Anushka thronged the hillock, the entry and exit points from the temple to have a glance at the ravishing actress, and get her autograph.
Accompanied by the unit members of Panchakshari, Anushka arrived at the venue two hours behind the schedule at 12.00 noon, despite which the surge of people stayed under the scorching sun. The police had a tough time in controlling the crowds.
Director V. Samudra said that even before the launch of the film, he prayed at the temple keeping script at the feet of the Goddess. He said that the output had been tremendous with thrilling graphics.
Later, the temple authorities presented the temple prasadams and portrait of the Goddess to the heroine.

Raajneeti movie: Two petitions rejected by High Court
The Mumbai High Court yesterday rejected two separate petitions, seeking stay on Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’.
In one petition, a scriptwriter Yogendra Konkar alleged that the film was based on his own script titled ‘Rajniti: A political saga’. Yogendra’s lawyer said that his script was registered with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPAA) in March 2009. Jha’s lawyer Ashish Kamat pointed that ‘Raajneeti’ script was registered in December 2008 and hence there is no way the script could have been plagiarized.
Justice Kathawalla refused to stay the film, saying that the two scripts are different.
In another petition, congress worker Naseem Khan has moved the high court for an interim stay after the sessions court rejected his applications last week. According to Khan, the character played by Katrina Kaif in the film was based on Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and it defamed her.
Ah... At last the road for a safe release of ‘Raajneeti’ one of the most awaited film for this year is clear.

Vidya Balan: Paa made West realise the thoughtful work happening in India
"Ab toh aap hamare bahut kareeb aa gaye," said Vidya Balan. And what are you guys thinking that can turn out to be huh? Let's play. Two things: Either she is talking to the IIFA Awards trophy or it's me. You decide. Vidya Balan is on cloud nine. She is always smiling. God Bless her! But today, she is happy for more reasons than just one. Vidya recalls her happiness, "IIFA has been very special to me because my first film premiered at IIFA Amsterdam. My life changed overnight. By the time the film was over, my life had changed. Parineeta will always be special and close to my heart. Then I got my best debut nomination at IIFA Dubai the next year for the same film."
Talk about her ongoing and flowing nominations for Paa, Balan gets excited. Vidya is the film's heart and its revelation. She confers on her role a dignity that miraculously stops the movie collapsing into mere camp along with the living legend Amitabh Bachchan and beautifully supported by Abhishek Bachchan. She quotes, "To get nominated at the IIFA for Paa is like I've gotten the world. I think it's very exciting and gratifying. I like to believe that I am matured in my performances. I am a happy thirty right now (laughs). I've played a good variety of roles so far and have tried to do the kind of work and choose the kind of work which has excited me, challenged me and fulfilled me as an actor."
So many questions, so little time. As an actor, Balan constantly surprises with the tiniest gestures (a purse of the lips, a flicker of the eyelids, a glance at her loins). She can be matronly and kittenish, severe and tender within the same scene. She often plays peculiarly Indian women -- subdued, judgmental, puritanical, straitlaced, and disapproving -- and then with one of these tiny gestures, she tells us that underneath it all there's something voracious and volcanic and ripe to explode. Paa has done just that. She comments on her unexpected overseas feedback, "Paa has made me more ingrained in the West and that's what I'd like to believe. The overseas audiences have loved Paa. The film was a perfect marriage of a certain sensibility and infidelity and yet it was interesting plus entertaining. The audiences thought that it was a perfect coming-of-age film. Paa made the overseas realise the kind of different and thoughtful work happening in India."
Here's wishing Vidya Balan the very best of luck, films and awards this year and the many more to come.
